Outpost
An old army base that looks like it was in it's prime around the Cold War. Judging from the overgrowth and rust, it appears to have been abandoned for decades, though there's no clear reason why it was abandoned. Even abandoned the walls are still thick cement and the gate can be opened and closed by hand with a bit of effort. The watchtower, though a little rusty, is also still fully accessible and provides a view of the surrounding area.
In addition to simple security, the old outpost also offers shelter. There's a covered supply and garage area where two broken down army trucks are parked along with empty crates and water drums. And although the cafeteria is mostly empty, there are beds in the barracks.
A heavy metal door leads down into a cement bunker where some cans of food and drums of water are stored. At the back of the bunker is another heavy metal door, this one secured and barred. It can be opened from inside the bunker and leads into a maze of dark tunnels below.

The covered garage has been converted largely into a workshop for Harrison Wells and anyone else who has need of it. Scrounged machine parts, tools and just about anything else you need to build, rebuild or refit things.
Tools are carefully lined up on one table, a large whiteboard hanging on a far wall with complex calculations that can go on for ages and a cot shoved in a far corner for anyone who feels the need to work until they drop.

One of the broken down army trucks is currently being overhauled by anyone with decent mechanical skills but a lack of parts means it's slow going overall.

The Boardwalk
In its heydey, the town clearly enjoyed a waterfront revival, because the area hugging the edge of the...bay? Lake? has been built up with many beach days, picnics and town festivals in mind. Though now, weather and neglect has taken its toll on the area...

A narrow wooden pathway bordering the beach, the boardwalk is lined by a strip of park with a few shadowy trees, broken picnic tables, and a graffiti-covered storm barrier above the strip of sand and water. In several places, the park widens to accommodate larger monuments, including some very weathered bronze war memorials of dead guys with swords on horses. Picnic tables, benches, and the odd bit of playground equipment scatter the length of the park, and closer to the water there is the occasional forlorn boat launch or caretaker's shack. At the far end is a public beach and palisade that once housed changing rooms, a snack bar, and a carousel, though most of it has been thoroughly scavenged and boarded up.

Also nearby, surrounded by concrete road barriers, is a gas station that has been closed and empty for what looks like many years, the pavement cracked and broken and the building itself damaged by weather and vandalism. Further down the highway edging the beach, the coast is undeveloped and the only thing separating the water from the road is a broken stone wall and piles of rocks and debris, before the land becomes more developed again with waterfront houses and private boat launches.

Forest Preserve
Set in the center of the town, spreading out toward peaceful, rolling farmlands and streams, the forest preserve is a charming sprawl of rocky hills, old forest growth, meandering paths, scenic overlooks, and dark, forbidden secrets nestled between the stones of long-ruined foundations.

Wait, what?

Yes, the forest preserve is one of the oldest, most untouched parts of the towns, but within its borders is also some of the most dangerous territory. Electronics and communications devices cease to work. Strange, misshapen creatures appear between the trees. The stone foundations and ruins of buildings and towers centuries old rest amid the leaves, along with hidden holes and caverns that are easy to miss in the dark. Mists roll in, leaving explorers completely disoriented and sometimes miles away from where they started...explore at your own risk.

The Towers

The Towers
Scattered throughout the town are a series of old, very weather-worn towers resembling old radio or television towers. However, these towers show up in the strangest places, including in the middle of parking lots or yards, varying in size from just a few feet high to massive towers at the edge of town, and put off an eerie, unsettling aura. Even the monsters avoid them, except for the occasional flocks of ravens, and damaging or otherwise messing with them is just asking to have horrible consquences brought down on you...

The Depot
Built in a Beaux-Arts Classical architecture style, the Depot still looks impressive even in its abandoned state. Windows are missing, but the waiting area built in the style of an ancient Roman bathhouse with all of its brickwork, marble, and Doric columns still beautifully and dustily intact. The departure and arrival board is still intact with only two lines coming or going at 9:07 and 5:34--day or night.

And if you wait long enough, you may be unfortunate enough to see the arrivals.

ABANDONED CHURCH
Located in the dilapidated urban area, the church looks as lifeless as the other buildings on the block. There are holes where windows used to be, but the walls are tall, imposing stone structures. Inside it's creepy and run down with rubble strewn across the floor. There's still an organ loft high up above the sanctuary, but be careful... not all the stairs can still hold weight.

Relay Station
The Relay Station is an old concrete building several miles from the Empty Town. It sits on a large piece of flat land, giving occupants a clear view in all directions of anyone approaching the building. There's a large radio tower inside the fenced-in property, though it doesn't appear to be one of the mysterious ones found elsewhere in the Outpost. On top of the building sits a large satellite dish which, thanks to some tinkering, is now operational.

Inside, relay panels line several walls on the first floor. None of them appear operational apart from a few flickering lights. It's here that an array of various pieces of technology and machinery have been assembled for use with both the satellite dish and the radio tower outside. On the second floor, there are four distinct rooms that appear to have been offices at some point. As it stands now, they can be easily converted into bedrooms for people needing a place to stay.

Amusement Complex

Amusement Complex
Once a place of wonder and delight, the amusement complex is now a ghost town... some say literally. The echoes of remembered screams sometimes carry on the wind - whether they are screams of horror or delight is difficult to say.

The enormous ferris wheel can be seen from miles away standing its lonely vigil over the empty grounds. A roller coaster's old wooden rails circles the perimeter of the park and a merry-go-round waits just inside the gates with a choice of nine mythical creature mounts to choose from, and although the paint is worn and faded, the eyes all seem watchful. Far in a back corner of the grounds, a replica of a stately southern manor house sits within the circle of a wrought iron fence.

The management accepts no responsibility for loss of property or life of those who decide to venture in.

Underground Catacombs

The Catacombs
Deep beneath the city is a vast network of tunnels. Rough hewn stone walls mark the lengths of tunnels closer to the surface, bare of adornments save for the occasional web built by an adventurous spider or scattering of small rodent bones. The deeper tunnels are colder, temperature dropping by dozens of degrees; the smoother walls can feel like ice. And the deeper they go, the more elaborate they become. Slabs are cut from the walls in some sections leaving shelves where the remains of cloth-wrapped bodies lay in repose.

A large dome-shaped chamber lies at the end of one such tunnel. The ceiling is exceptionally high, giving strange acoustics to any sound within. The chamber walls are broken only by the entryway and are tiled entirely with skulls -- thousands of skulls, most are human sized, but not all of them human. They reach nearly to the ceiling, leaving just a small circle of plain stone at the very top.

The only currently known entrance to the catacombs lies under the haunted house inside the Amusement Complex, but there could be dozens more...
