outpostoverlordsSo you want to join our happy family? Great! A few things to bear in mind before you attack the spec sheet:
1. There is a sheet for both canon and OC's.
2. While there is no formal approval process, your sheet will be reviewed by the mods for any possible modifications and revisions before you are approved to enter the game. Please don't stress about the game! We're trying to keep things easy as possible.
3. As we work to reboot the game and this new location - the rules are subject to revision and refinement. The OOC page will continue to be noted about changes. Please be aware and keep up to date on things.
4. You must review all of the rules and FAQ. Ignorance is no excuse.
5. Post as a reply to this thread and wait until you're given the all clear to join.

Addendum to match Luci's!
Date: 2016-10-11 07:14 am (UTC)When the Overlords took John Constantine and Lucifer, Constantine was in the middle of trying to contact Lucifer via supernatural means, a powerful spell which they interrupted. The lash back from being pulled before completing the spell has affected Lucifer and John. It's created a connection between them, a link if you will.
This link just means that if John gets hurt, Lucifer will feel it. He'll suffer with John, which means the pain could be brief or off and on over the course of a few days depending on the injury. There will be no physical wound or marks, but it'll be an annoyance to sort of slow him down. Or make him more aware of his human counterpart.
If John dies Lucifer will fall unconscious the moment John passes. He'll be left vulnerable while he's out, as in, someone could potentially kill him while he's asleep or at least do him harm. When he wakes he'll have a feeling of something huge missing. He'll be weakened and almost sickly until John returns. if the death is violent and painful, Lucifer runs the risk of falling into a coma until John returns.
So in other words once Luci figures this out he'll want to keep John safe. Have a reason to keep the man around, not just for the company. John already follows Lucifer cause he's a big bad and can protect him, so now it'll give reason for Lucifer to keep him alive and well.
This sort of gives the Overlords a kind of fail safe if Lucifer becomes out of hand for some reason. It adds to the current random pockets of weakness, as if he's near Chloe. For the most part, hurting John will just be an annoyance, but it could slow him down or make him less reckless or brash to try anything if someone would have John and threaten him or his life.
Another small advantage to the link is a temporary way to communicate. It takes concentration and focus. John could "reach out" to Lucifer mentally, try to send him an image or thought or feelings. Lucifer would feel dizzy and only get quick flashes and flickers of these things. Nothing really game breaking. Even if Lucifer then concentrates to reach out and let John know he's there, and John connects again while Lucifer is focusing, he'll get a quick, clearer image that only lasts a few seconds. A glimpse like a photograph through Johns eyes but not much more. He won't get a feel for an exact location, just a picture. He can feel if Johns in pain from a distance, or a quick thought like "Barn" or a single sentence. Broken parts of a message unless they can both concentrate on each other in that moment, which wouldn't be easy all things considered, not without practice.
So for instance, with the event where john was taken and altered, John could unknowingly send Lucifer some flicker of something for where he is, but Lucifer won't be able to figure it out. He won't be able to find the place not knowing anything about the world or where things are. He won't be able to really see a clear image, just feel Johns pain. Or catch the snippet of a thought. He'll just know that John didn't go home and something is wrong. Which could spur him into helping figure things out later on. It'll be the first time he realizes there's even a connection between them.
The pain link goes both ways. If Lucifer is in one of those pockets of vulnerability and is wounded, John will feel it. If Lucifer is at full strength and isn't actually hurt, John won't feel it, but if say, someone uses Maze's knife while Lucifer is full strength and wounds him, then John will feel it. If Lucifer dies somehow, John will die with him. Or try to use his magic which will lead to putting himself in a coma.
All in all they have a innate empathy and can get snippets of emotions from each other, they can get a general sense of the other by just focusing on them. Leaving them somewhat vulnerable to each other. He can literally sense Lucifer being a peacock.
So yes, they are connected on a supernatural level, nothing too incredible or potentially game-breaking, just something for them to have to deal with and get used to or discover the benefits of.
